ALBA Graduate Business School

Continuous innovation in research, teaching and the educational programmes it offers.

Based in Vouliagmeni,Athens, ALBA Graduate Business School is an established European educational organisation offering postgraduate studies in business administration. Founded in 1992, it is a non-state, not-for-profit, research-driven institution. The School maintains very close links with the industry, as it operates under the auspices of the Federation of Greek Industries, the Hellenic Management Association, and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, ALBA Graduate Business School is an association of corporations, currently numbering 63 corporate members. The School's resident and visiting faculty members are drawn from leading business schools around the world, and are leading, widely published academics and practitioners with extensive teaching, research and consulting experience. In March 2007, all five MBA programmes offered by ALBA Graduate Business School were accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), placing ALBA within a select group of accredited business schools at the global level.

Academic strength

Hobsons MBA - ALBA Graduate Business School strives for continuous innovation in research, teaching and the educational programmes it offers. Its international outlook and reach are reflected in its faculty members and students, as well as regular collaboration with leading business schools worldwide. The School regularly joins forces with international institutions for the organisation of surveys and competitions in Greece (eg Best Workplaces Competition), and also for executive development programmes (eg Yale University, INSEAD).

The MBA programmes

  • Full-time MBA: intensive full-time programme for university graduates and professionals with
    three to five years' experience, with a placement record of over 90% within five months of completion of studies.
  • Professional MBA: part-time evening courses exclusively for working professionals with at
    least three years' experience.
  • HBA-ALBA MBA in Banking: programme for banking executives conducted in collaboration
    with the Hellenic Bank Association.
  • MBA in Shipping: part-time programme for executives in the maritime industry. ALBA's faculty members, resident and visiting, are drawn from the best business schools around
    the world. All ALBA professors are leading management academics and practitioners,
    with extensive teaching, research and consulting experience.

Other activities

Beyond its academic programmes, the ALBA activities also include:

  • Extensive executive development seminars and programmes--company specific,open enrolment, area or sector specific.
  • Academic research leading to publications in top international academic journals.
  • Participation in applied research and international projects, mainly within the framework of European
    Union initiatives in association with leading European business schools.
  • Public events--conferences, round-table discussions, lectures, etc, on the latest
    developments, trends, challenges and opportunities in modern management and
    business, with distinguished speakers from both Greece and abroad.
