California State UniversityOverview

Quality, choice, and flexibility are the cornerstones of the California State University, Fullerton MBA. Since 1963, the College of Business and Economics has significantly influenced the lives of successful business leaders through its graduate business programs.

Curriculum

The CSUF MBA program challenges students academically and encourages them to examine their existing values, leadership style, and goals. The 11- to 15-course curriculum has been designed to deliver broad, strategic managerial perspectives, while balancing theory with practical application and strengthening leadership skills. Each student takes six to ten required interdisciplinary courses, four concentration courses, and a business strategy capstone course.

Quality

The College of Business and Economics is one of two schools in the Los Angeles metropolitan area to hold the prestigious dual accreditation in business administration and accounting from AACSB International. This professional accreditation ensures that the MBA program has achieved the highest standards in business education worldwide. Additionally, CSUF has consistently been recognized by the Princeton Review and U.S.News & World Report as one of the top public master's institutions in the West.

Choice

CSUF realizes that no two students are alike and has built four concentration courses into the MBA study plan. Students can select from 11 concentration areas to create a program specific to their individual needs. Students choose accounting, economics, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, finance, information systems, international business, management, management science, marketing, or a general concentration to customize their study plan.

Flexibility

The convenient MBA program offers students the flexibility to choose between full- and part-time study. Depending on their needs, students may switch between full- and part-time course loads to ensure that their education fits their existing lifestyle. All of the semester-long courses are offered on weekdays (Monday-Thursday), either in the late afternoon or evening, so students don't have to sacrifice precious weekend time with family and friends. All courses meet once a week per subject area, providing students with ample time to read, review, and complete homework before the next course meeting. Additionally, the FEMBA program offered at CSUF Irvine Campus offers working professionals a convenient alternative to the traditional program. The FEMBA courses are broken down into six- to eight-week segments. This allows students to take two courses per semester, but only one course at a time.

Real-World Experience

The culmination of the MBA program is the business strategy capstone course. Students put their knowledge and skills to the test as they work in a small team to examine the business practices of a local company. This opportunity moves students out of the classroom and into the workplace as they consult with and then present their findings to the business owner. Final projects have placed in the Small Business Institute's national top ten in 14 of the past 15 years.
