Purdue University Calumet, a comprehensive regional university part of the internationally respected Purdue University system campus, is located in the city of Hammond in northwest Indiana. Our campus, nestled among 167 beautiful, wooded acres, is positioned 25 miles southeast from downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan's Indiana dunes.
School of Management The School of Management (SOM), accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), is the home of the Department of Accounting; Department of Finance and Economics; Department of Information Systems; and Department of Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Management. SOM offers programs in business, economics, information systems, and management.
Graduate School Programs Our Graduate School Programs, taught by certified Purdue graduate faculty, offer the following degrees:
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Designed to provide a comprehensive management education.
- The degree program consists of three phases: foundation course work, the core program, and electives. The program effectively requires that all graduate students complete a minimum of 45 graduate credit hours (21 hours from Phase I and 24 from Phase II) In addition to a specified number of electives.
- Courses are offered in the evening hours during the week (both full-time and part-time).
- Program begins during fall, spring, and summer semesters.
- GMAT score is required.
MBA for Executives (MBAE)
- Designed for business leaders and working professionals.
- Intensive 18-month program structured in six ten-week modules.
- Classes are offered on Saturdays only so as not to interfere with professional commitments.
- Cohort approach that fosters teamwork development and leadership skills
- Executive coaching sessions.
- Total program cost covers tuition; all instructional materials; parking; continental breakfast; and lunch/refreshment breaks.
- Program begins during fall semester.
- GMAT score is not required.
Master in Accountancy (MACC)
- Ten courses are required for the program: seven core courses and three electives.
- Opportunity to acquire the CPA license: Indiana required 150 hours of college credit to take the Uniform CPA Examination.
- Courses are offered during the day and evening (both full-time and part-time).
- Requirements: graduate application, undergraduate degree in accountancy (of five pre-requisites besides the required graduate credit) transcripts, letter of recommendations, and résumé.
- Program begins during fall, spring, and summer semesters.
