The Program
Concordia University's John Molson School of Business (JMSB) offers an MBA specifically tailored to address the leading-edge issues facing a global economy. In a diverse, urban, multicultural environment, students benefit from both the school's commitment to quality education and its flexible, client-centered approach to program design. This MBA program can typically be completed in 16 months. Studies commence in September, January, or May. JMSB also offers an accelerated one-year (full time) or two-year (part time) "fast-track" option to students with an undergraduate commerce degree.
For students hoping to develop Canadian work experience or those making a career change, a popular co-op (work-study) option is available.
Montreal-International City, Crossroads of Global Business JMSB offers a new, state-of-the-art building in the heart of downtown Montreal, North America's most cosmopolitan city.
An international, multilingual hot spot for culture and business, Montreal is headquarters to some of the world's largest national and multinational corporations.
Hands-on Expertise, Worldwide Focus Key to the MBA's long-standing success is an outstanding community. Both faculty and students enrich the classroom with considerable experience, international perspective, and a wide-ranging network of real-world business connections.
Students can apply their knowledge and skills through:
- Concordia Small Business Consulting Bureau
- John Molson International MBA Case Competition
- MBA Co-op
Student-Centered Program Flexibility Students require a dynamic business education to meet tomorrow's industry challenges. To that end, the MBA program's keystone is an interdisciplinary general management focus with a practical, case-based approach, adapted to student needs and schedules. All students complete core mandatory courses and then complete the program through any of three options:
- Students may further their understanding of important business concepts through the Electives option, choosing six courses of personal or professional interest.
- The Business Research Project (with four additional electives) allows students to work with a professor of their choice to write a business plan, carry out research analysis or market study, or develop a project related to a current employment situation.
- Finally, a hands-on Consulting Project allows students to practice management consulting skills and knowledge in a real-life context as students carry out an in-depth investigation of a complex business problem within a corporation or other economic entity.
