EM LYON Business School

Today, companies no longer look for managers. They recruit entrepreneurial leaders that can identify opportunities, learn 'on the hoof' as new problems and challenges emerge, marshal resources, and build effective relationships to not only get the job done, but done right.

'The EM LYON International MBA offers a truly unique programme ? an entrepreneurial approach from an entrepreneurial school.'

Hobsons MBA - EM LYON is proud of its entrepreneurial heritage. It underscores its entrepreneurial focus in its motto, 'educating entrepreneurs for the world.' Our goal is to develop leaders with both an entrepreneurial attitude and core skills to build and innovate for the world.

From its unique experiential learning design and tailor-made elective courses to innovative selection processes and career development assistance, the EM LYON International MBA offers a truly unique programme ? an entrepreneurial approach from an entrepreneurial school.

A strong entrepreneurial focus
Entrepreneurial leaders are not developed in classrooms. EM LYON offers one of the most dynamic learning experiences available anywhere. Building capabilities through experience-based learning allows participants to gain new skills AND prove that they are able to put them into action. Experience-based learning is designed to provide real consequences, encouraging creative thinking and pushing participants outside their personal comfort zones to learn about themselves, their environment and their respective values.

A unique recruitment process
The success of our MBA starts with a stringent selection process. Our objective is to get an ideal mix of students to foster learning. Specific concerns about learning agility and flexibility are addressed in the interviewing process.

We seek participants who can integrate into a cohesive yet diverse team ready to take part together in a life-changing learning experience. By mixing together participants from varying backgrounds, cultures and experiences, the programme clearly values difference.

A personalised skills assessment
All participants start the programme with a week-long leadership assessment. The results of this complete process will guide the Entrepreneurial Leadership Project selection. In addition, half of the elective courses to be offered in the third quarter will be determined from the results of this assessment, making the programme truly tailor-made to strengthen each participant's abilities as an entrepreneurial leader.

Project-based learning at the heart of the programme
Along with core courses in finance, strategy and marketing that have been reorganised to address entrepreneurial leadership needs, learning is driven by a team project in large, medium-sized or start-up organisations, selected to focus on participants' identified learning needs. This Entrepreneurial Leadership Project involves real clients with real consequences. As a true development laboratory, the project also aims to place participants in a real value-creating project with real stakeholders (see www.emlyon.com/imba for project examples).

A clear career focus with a unique career-boosting system and placement services
This process places your career development as our number-one objective. With the help of specialised and private coaches, recruiting experts, EM LYON networks and our vast electronic resources, you will learn to manage your career development effectively. You will be guided through numerous career-enhancement workshops, starting as early as September. The objective of this process is the placement of 100% of our participants with employers worldwide.
