University of PittsburghOverview
The University of Pittsburgh system consists of its 132-acre main campus, located in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, and several regional campuses. Established in 1787, the University of Pittsburgh is one of the first 25 universities established in the United States. It serves more than 32,000 students through the programs of 18 undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools and is recognized internationally as one of the leading research institutions in the world.

Like the university, the Katz community has a cosmopolitan makeup. With an international student population of more than 48 percent, the atmosphere is global and diverse. The Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business has been ranked consistently among the top 50 MBA programs in the United States. As one of the 17 founding members of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB),
Katz is home to one of the first federally funded centers for international business and research. Its techno MBA program options and its part-time MBA program have both earned recognition as top-20 programs from U.S.News & World Report.

Pittsburgh
The city's renaissance has breathed new life into what was once called "Steel Town"--so much so that the president of the United States declared recently that Pittsburgh should be called "Knowledge Town." Pittsburgh's rich, multicultural heritage is seen in its variety of ethnic neighborhoods. This quilt of communities makes it unique among American cities. As the nation's fourth-largest corporate center and home to several Fortune 500 companies, Pittsburgh is alive with three professional sports teams, a variety of museums, parks, and everything else you would expect in a thriving city.

One-Year MBA
As recognized by BusinessWeek, the one-year program is the ideal solution for the business professional seeking maximum ROI by minimizing time out of the workplace.

Ideal candidates have well-defined professional goals as they pursue an MBA. Self-directed and focused professionals will find the one-year program accommodating in their pursuit of academic and career goals.

Two-Year MBA
The two-year program is designed for people who want to develop their professional focus while allowing time to explore finance, information sciences, marketing, or operations in depth. The format also accommodates students who want a corresponding internship to confirm and advance their focus. The two-year framework gives students time to digest their academic choices and, along with the individualized coaching and mentoring program, supports their professional growth and development.

The two-year program enables students to build a solid managerial foundation while pursuing a more traditional graduate business education.

Dual-Degree MBAs
Since 1985, the Katz school has offered the dual-degree option for those students seeking a rigorous program that applies a managerial context for a domain specialty. Eight in total, three are built around a strong technical component--the techno MBAs--and five combine the MBA with degrees in law, international administration, and international business.

Part-Time MBA
The Katz part-time MBA program has been ranked among the top part-time programs in the nation. The program encompasses the same techniques and teaching philosophies as the full-time program.

Team Based, Individually Focused
Team-based experiences are at the heart of the Katz approach. The moment you are accepted into the program, you become a member of a team where you work with your peers in technical workshops and numerous activities, learning the critical skills of communication and leadership.
This program provides a customized, 360-degree evaluation for each student, integrating feedback from a variety of sources: professors, project teammates, internship supervisors, and previous employers. An executive coach evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of each student and then works on building managerial competencies through such activities as workshops and role-playing.

KATZPORT
KATZPORT Communications is a program that provides critical information to employers and our international students regarding the immigration process. We do this in two ways. First, we de-mystify the often complex immigration process. Second, we provide our students with targeted instruction on immigration law and procedure as it relates to their unique situation in order to prepare them for the job market.
