Oakley Johnson from Washington D.C. (USA) MBA EU Barcelona 2005
An international education and an institution with a pragmatic approach were the two deciding factors that brought Oakley Johnson to Barcelona from the USA.
An International Experience Living in Barcelona was a major factor on my decision to study abroad. The city's culture is fantastic and has some of the best weather one can find. I've always wanted to study abroad in a city like Barcelona. I grew up outside Washington, D.C. where I went to secondary school at the Landon School in Bethesda, MD. I then went to Boston University where I graduated in 2000 with a B.A. degree in International Relations with a concentration in Foreign Policy.
Studying in Barcelona And in spring 2005, I completed my MBA at the European University in Barcelona. The EU location in Barcelona was a major factor in my decision while I was in the application process. And I found that the EU was quite strong in several areas of their operations. The lessons were informative and pragmatic - the professors often used real-world analysis and cases from their own experiences. In and outside the classroom, I found that the students were not competitive and often very helpful to one another. I feel the EU has numerous strengths. My MBA class was extremely diverse-12 countries were represented. This was very helpful in and outside the classroom. During class discussions, every student offered resourceful insight from the perspective of their own country. It proved to be very valuable. Being able to receive the same feedback and knowledge at home would have been very difficult. Also, EU offers an MBA that is pragmatic and relevant. The professors taught us important lessons to help us compete in the international business world. I would highly recommend EU to anyone looking for a Masters course with an international perspective.
