Overview The MBA program at The University of Iowa, established in 1959, is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Tippie School of Management's MBA programs use a combination of academic study and hands-on learning. Students gain the tools, the vision, and the assets to accelerate their careers and produce bottom-line results for their organizations.
The University of Iowa: Location and Environment Iowa City is a diverse, highly cosmopolitan community of 60,000 set in the natural scenic beauty of Iowa's rolling hills. The University of Iowa campus is the heart of Iowa City. The 1,900-acre campus is located along both sides of the Iowa River. The campus community provides a rich variety of activities and resources including Big Ten athletics, natural history and art museums, the Center for the Arts, Hancher Auditorium, and the UI hospitals and clinics. MBA programs are housed in the 187,000-square-foot John Pappajohn Business Building and the newly constructed Pomerantz Center. Multimedia capabilities and instructional technology are integrated throughout the classrooms and facilities. Students enjoy an incomparable sense of community as they take advantage of MBA group study rooms, offices for MBA student organizations, dedicated classrooms equipped with the latest technology, a roof-top deck, and the Exchange (a gathering area with a flat-screen plasma TV that is the perfect spot for full-time MBA students to relax and mingle with their peers). All of these resources come together to enhance the MBA experience.
Program Features The on-campus, full-time MBA helps students attain major career advancement or a career change and increased responsibility. Through the full-time program students can obtain a variety of primary concentrations including: accounting, category and brand management, corporate finance, finance, investment management, marketing, marketing research, operations management, and strategic management and consulting. In addition, there are three secondary concentrations including: entrepreneurship, international business, and nonprofit management.
The Tippie MBA integrates quality academics, experiential business applications, and professional development to deliver a multifaceted approach to learning. The business core, a leadership series, real-time corporate projects, and international opportunities, including an experience China option, combine to give students a firsthand look at global business in today's world.
Through the newly created Business Solutions Center, students are immersed in a cross-functional learning experience where they work with corporate partners to understand and implement the company's strategic vision. Each of these unique experiences bring classroom theory to life and encourage students to think about business issues within the structure of a specific organization.
To help students land their dream job, our MBA Career Services team partners with each student to provide one-on-one career search advice and facilitate a successful job search. Through class projects, student organizations, and hands-on business experiences, each person's individual leadership style emerges. The full-time MBA is known for providing personalized one-on-one attention and an exceptional return on the MBA investment.

Tuition Full time: $13,584 per year for Iowa residents; $24,914 per year for non-Iowa residents Graduate assistants receive resident tuition. Executive: $25,500 per year MBA-PM: $510 per credit hour (45 credits required)
Scholarships/funding Full time: Merit-based financial aid is offered to outstanding candidates each year. Awards may consist of a scholarship, a graduate assistantship, or both. Graduate assistantships provide resident tuition, a salary of approximately $8,000, and a contribution toward health insurance costs.
