University of Hertfordshire Business School
The University of Hertfordshire Business School has been offering business degrees since 1965, and has established an excellent reputation in the field. The School is located at our new £120m campus in Hatfield, just 20 minutes by train from central London.
Whether you are an experienced manager of several years' standing or have just started on your management career, the University of Hertfordshire's Business School has a programme that will enhance and develop your skills and knowledge in the management arena, as well as help you make a successful contribution to the management of your organisation. We design our courses with our students in mind. Our starting point is, ?What do successful managers need to know?'. Based on many years of successful delivery of management programmes, the continuous evaluation of feedback from our graduates enables us to adapt and improve our programmes for your benefit.
Our flagship programme is the MBA, the accepted and expected management qualification. Today, not only are managers expected to have an MBA ? where it comes from matters too. Our ratings guarantee that a Hertfordshire MBA will be held in respect. If you wish to advance your career by enhancing your strategic leadership potential, engaging in personal and professional development, and studying in a manner that suits your circumstances, then this programme is for you.
Programme philosophy Led by a team of staff that has practical business as well as academic skills, you will be expected to share your knowledge and experience, and so contribute to others' learning. The common theme running throughout our programme is the enhancement of our students' strategic leadership potential through the development of a holistic organisational perspective. Your ability to present yourself, negotiate your position and take a leading role will also be developed. The School draws its students from many different nationalities and backgrounds, and exploits this diversity to enrich the student experience on its management programmes.
Teaching, learning and assessment
Participants study in groups, which enables the sharing of experience and facilitates the formation of the networks that are key features of the MBA learning process. Sessions are interactive to enable you to draw on your knowledge and to practise discussing those issues relevant to every manager. Assessment is a mixture of written assignments, presentations and time-constrained exercises, all of which are geared towards helping you develop useful and relevant management skills.
