Newcastle University Business School
The history of management education at Newcastle University dates back to the 1920s and Newcastle has run an MBA since the early 1980s. The Business School is one of the largest schools in the University, and continues to grow in both size and stature. In keeping with the University'sworldwide reputation, the School attracts some of the brightest students from across the globe. The Business School has a faculty of around 90, with approximately 1,500 undergraduates and around 300 master's and research students.
The School has recently relocated its headquarters to Citywall, a brand-new futuristic building in Newcastle's city centre and opposite Newcastle's iconic St James Park (home to Newcastle United Football Club). Here, our full-time and Executive MBA students benefit from high-quality executive facilities in an ultra-modern learning environment. Our dream is for the Business School to become one of the top-ten providers of business and management education, research and consultancy in the UK. From an already strong base, we are rapidly developing. Newcastle's Association of MBAs (AMBA)-accredited MBA has been ranked in the world's top 100 MBA programmes by the Which MBA? 2006 ranking compiled by the influential Economist Intelligence Unit.
The MBA programmes We offer an MBA in both full-time and Executive block-release formats. It has been accredited by AMBA for over 15 years. The Newcastle MBA focuses on the application of knowledge to real organisational problems across a range of functional areas and sectors. Other Business School programmes
As well as our MBA programmes, the School offers a number of full-time one-year master's programmes. These include a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)-accredited MA in Human Resource Management (HRM), a CIPD-accredited MA in International HRM, an MA in International Business Management, an MA in International Financial Analysis, an MSc in Finance, an MSc in Banking and Finance, an MSc in International Economics and Finance, an MSc in International Marketing, an MSc in Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise Management, and an MSc in E-Business and Information Systems.
The School also offers both a full-time and part-time Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). This is a practice based research doctorate designed for those interested in research and consultancy who may already have an MBA or Masters qualification.

Entry requirements
- Good first degree from an institution recognized by the University, or equivalent professional qualification.
- A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (7.0 strongly recommended).
- At least three years' work experience, some of which must be at managerial level.

- General MBA: 12 months.
