University of Wales, Bangor

The University of Wales, Bangor is located in beautiful countryside at the edge of the mountains of Snowdonia in north Wales. It offers world-class, one-year master's programmes in banking and finance, and in management. These programmes combine professional and academic excellence, giving participants direct access to financial and management skills not easily acquired elsewhere.

What is on offer
Hobsons MBA - BangorAt the Bangor Business School, we offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in the areas of banking, finance, business and management. We have long held a strong international reputation in the study of banking and finance.

The MBA programmes
Our MBAs are designed for candidates with degrees or relevant business backgrounds who wish to develop their expertise and further their professional careers. The MBA programmes provide a more practical postgraduate course to complement our long-established postgraduate and well-respected undergraduate courses in banking, finance and the management disciplines.

Other programmes
Our MA in Banking and Finance has run since 1973, and, over this period, we have also had a strong PhD programme, where research typically focuses on banking with a much stronger practical emphasis focusing on strategic, corporate and financial management disciplines.

For 2007, we are now offering MSc programmes in banking and finance, international banking and development finance, business and finance, and finance in addition to our existing suite of MA and MBA programmes.

Studying at Bangor
We believe that candidates following our MBAs will benefit in the same way as our past postgraduate students, who have found living in Bangor and studying in the Business School to be both rewarding and enjoyable.

Teaching staff at Bangor are active researchers, combining high levels of expertise with a desire to extend their subject areas, and, most importantly from a postgraduate viewpoint, an enthusiasm to encourage others to develop their academic, financial and business skills.

The Business School is also currently developing a new and exciting national and international teaching and conference facility. The Management Development Centre, due to open in 2007, will provide high-quality state-of-the-art teaching and conference facilities, which will also be used by our postgraduate community.

'These programmes combine professional and academic excellence, giving participants direct access to financial and management skills not easily acquired elsewhere.'
