University of Westminster
The Westminster MBA is an intensive, professionally orientated MBA that has a single aim: to help our students become better managers.Whether studying full time or part time with us, we offer them superb teaching staff, exceptional facilities in which to study, a high-quality learning experience and a great location in London.
Students will be taught by a high-quality faculty, whose members will respect their individual strengths and learning requirements. We teach in groups of around 25 students, small enough to allow for personal interaction with the tutor, but large enough for participants to encounter a diversity of backgrounds and opinions that will push them to re-examine their own preconceptions about people and management. They are likely to share their classroom with people of at least a dozen different nationalities and professional backgrounds, all, like themselves, mature and motivated professionals.
We provide a multitude of opportunities for networking with practising managers in London's vibrant business climate, along with careerdevelopment workshops, databases of jobs available to MBA graduates and professional advice on searching for jobs.
The MBA The foundations of the MBA are laid through eight core modules that will familiarise students with the language and methods of key areas of management, including accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, and the management of operations and information. Participants are encouraged to reflect upon their own professional practice as a manager, and to understand - and harness - the needs, abilities and motivations of others as they work together in teams.
They will then learn how to integrate this knowledge in shaping an organisation's overall strategy. The strategic management module combines theory with opportunities to apply it through a business simulation, and a residential study tour in Continental Europe (included in the cost of the programme), which gives students insight into the strategic dilemmas confronting practising managers.
A choice of electives, many drawn from our highly regarded specialist programmes, enables students to focus on a particular functional area, which they can consolidate through the integrating project. Alternatively, they can opt for a more diverse experience.Whichever they choose, our students' education will retain the solid general management character that is the hallmark of a good MBA.
In their MBA project, our students will gain the opportunity to deepen their theoretical knowledge and apply it to a real business problem. They will develop the skills of independent action, in-depth thinking, clear presentation and logical persuasion. Participants will engage in work that has practical relevance to an employer and is also relevant to their own career.
The University of Westminster business schools The Westminster MBA is run jointly by the University of Westminster's two business schools. Together, they have over 5,000 students. Around 80% of our full-time MBA students are from outside Europe.
We have offered MBAs at our central London campus for over 20 years. It has excellent, up-todate computing, classroom and library facilities. The campus location (just across the road from Baker Street tube station and Madame Tussauds) will also allow students immediate access to unlimited business and academic, as well as social and personal, resources available in the city.
The business schools have over 150 permanent staff with extensive business, consultancy and research achievements. They are rated as -excellent - in their teaching by the UK Government's Quality Assurance Agency and have a sound research record.
