Career History I chose to stop my career in the public sector in Ecuador to pursue an MBA because I wanted to challenge myself in a more competitive environment where I could get the tools I needed to achieve my professional and personal goals.
Owen is an opportunity to make a new start: a place where we can make an impact by taking on any kind of initiative; where seven-week mods prepare us faster than anywhere else; where we work on weekends to complete the best case ever; where professors know our names; where we support each other; where we have fun on Thursdays after class. Once you come to Owen, you will realize you have come to a family.
What I've Learned At Owen, I don't compete with my peers--I learn from them. I compete with the person I was the day before to achieve the excellence that Owen encourages us to maintain. This lesson goes beyond academics, and will help me for the rest of my life. I have learned tenacity--to determine my objectives and work as hard as I can to achieve them. The self-confidence I am enhancing will help me cross difficult barriers in my future life. I have also learned teamwork. The sum of various forces is stronger than a single force, and that's true at Owen. I've learned how a case debrief is much easier and stronger when various perspectives are taken. And it is a treasure to enjoy your work because of who you are working with.
The Right Choice I love the fact that I am gaining an incredible amount of knowledge every seven weeks; that I am living in a place where community and its well-being play an important role; where staff and faculty take care of every single person in the building; where my classmates know my name; where students know how to be responsible and enjoy life; and where people have a deep sense of social responsibility. Owen was the right choice for me because I feel happy to be here.
