Overview
Hobsons MBA - Vytautas Magnus UniversityLocated in the centre of Lithuania in Kaunas, the second largest city of the country, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) offers switched-on and professionally oriented study, and new life experiences. Its international MBA programme started in September 2006.

The MBA programme
The School of Business and Management at VMU offers an MBA programme specialising in the field of marketing and international commerce. The aim of the programme is to produce marketing and international commerce specialists of a high calibre, who will have a systematic approach to business management in the permanently changing conditions of the global marketplace, and who will be able to manage difficult contemporary marketing subjects and processes.

Graduates of the MBA in Marketing and International Commerce programme will be able to work as top managers in various types of organisations, as managers in marketing development departments, advisers in fields related to marketing and import-export areas, and department managers in joint ventures and foreign companies, as well as marketing and export-import consultants, and managers or specialists in customs offices.

The programme develops professional thinking through theoretical and practical activities. Students are trained through practical sessions, the fulfilment of individual tasks and preparation of research projects. The main elements of proficiency areconsolidated through the preparation and defence of a master thesis. During one to two semesters, ten subjects are studied on the programme and research projects are undertaken. During the third semester, the thesis paper is prepared under the advice of faculty members, either in VMU or in the student's home country, communicating via e-mail with their adviser.

Kaunas and Lithuania
Kaunas, with nearly 400,000 inhabitants, is one of Lithuania's major cities. It is not only a city of old traditions, but also a large centre of business and industry. It can also lay claim to be a city of young people, with over 35,000 students studying at the seven universities there.
