Xue has worked across three continents from Australia, Asia to Europe. She has a rich working background from Civil Aviation, IT, Telecommunications to International Logistics industries. Xue has held positions of CFO, Human Resource Manager & Project Manager before she moved to Germany and currently works as an Executive Consultant for an International Logistics Company.

Having worked in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Germany, I have learned that with geographic differences come cultural differences and different business methods.

After 3 fast-paced, sometimes hectic, yet successful, years of doing business in China, I have opted to settle down and work in a Global Logistics firm in Germany. This choice has been challenging both professionally and socially. The transition from a very fast, flexible and extremely ambitious business environment to an established and 'by the book' situation has not been an easy one. I have decided to look for a MBA course, which has a solid international management curriculum as well as German/European flair.

The Corporate Master Programme for Financials (CMP-F) at GSO-MI located in Nuremberg Germany has been my final choice after months of research.

My primary reasons for choosing the CMP-F at GSO-MI were: its flexible part-time frame, strong teaching staff and a very multi-cultural and varied backgrounds of students. These are the important features of a good MBA programme.

The MBA Programme at GSO-MI
The three types of Master programs at GSO-MI provide customised and know-how oriented study: Important is that there was a mix of students with different economical backgrounds. The different time schedules of the MBA course make it possible to choose the individually appropriate model and work load.

Strong teaching force
All our professors have either worked in their specialized fields for many years or are still working in the industries. Most are very successful in what they do. Therefore, we have the advantages of absorbing the most up to date information and analysing real-life cases, which can be related to our daily professional life. I find these practical case studies eye-opening and inspiring.

In addition, we often have guest-lectures during our studies. This further enriches our views and gives us a practical angle on real problems. All these have made our learning informative and fascinating.

Multinational groups
A good MBA course must also have a good mixtures of participants not only facilitate the learning process but also provide essential networking opportunities. A multi-cultural aspect is the reality at GSO-MI. 35 nationalities with various working backgrounds have studied or are studying here. It's said that GSO-MI is the most multi-cultural Institute in Bavaria, Germany.

What I like most is that I have met some clients/associates of my company, for example: Siemens, Lucent, Ina and HBV bank. Group discussion, case studies or chats during breaks are helpful to understand people from different industries and how they see things. I discover something new or learn something inspiring every time from our discussion. It is only possible due to our very well mixed cultures and backgrounds.

Beyond the Classroom - Extra Curricular
We have company visits, excursions and workshops apart from a well structured curriculum at MI. They are organized either by MI or students. Everyone is empowered and motivated in this respect. We've visited such companies as Audi, Alcan, BMW, DATEV, Emuge, Siemens and MAN. Of recent excursions, the most memorable were to Miami (USA), St. Petersburg (Russia), Kavala (Greece), London (UK) and Barcelona (Spain). These are good opportunities to gain first hand experience from different corporate cultures and develop our friendships among students.
