University of Buckingham Business School
The Buckingham MBA experience Over the last 30 years the University of Buckingham has created an enviable reputation in countries across the world such as Germany, Nigeria, China and the UK, as an outstanding place to study. In contrast to its small size, Buckingham gathers students from a broad spectrum - over 80 nationalities are represented on campus, making it a lively multi-national, multi-cultural community.
With less than a thousand students on campus, and a student-to-staff ratio of 9:1, Buckingham offers closer contact with faculty than other institutions. This allows students to receive detailed attention from widely experienced faculty, in a friendly and open environment.
By studying at Buckingham you will develop a wider understanding of nations and cultures in both a business and social context, ensuring a rich and fulfilling MBA experience. For the second year running the University has been placed top of the National Student Survey which means we have the most satisfied students of any UK University.

MBA programme quality With regard to the quality of the programme, the Buckingham MBA received the strongest endorsement from the UK QAA (Quality Assurance Agency) assessment in 2004 assessed on its teaching, learning and development.
Programme objectives The Buckingham MBA recognises the importance of providing a balance of theory and practice, encouraging students to develop comprehensive analytical and inter-personal skills. We emphasise teaching from an integrative, cross-functional perspective, so that business issues are treated in a ?real world? fashion. This is crucial to producing graduates who will be equipped with the skills sought by employers.
12-month programme From the start the MBA combines rigorous management theory with practical applications. Core modules cover the key areas of business within a strategic management framework, whilst the diversity of the students drives an international viewpoint.
A unique feature of the MBA is the first term. All students follow a series of Assimilation Modules that introduce the core management disciplines and are a stimulating preparation for the main body of the programme.
In each of the subsequent three terms students follow three compulsory courses and one option. Students have the opportunity to follow a specialisation through their option choices, or they may select options to provide greater diversity in knowledge and skills.
The recent revision has improved the option streams to include: Business Operations Corporate Finance Marketing
Student Profile Students joining the MBA come from diverse backgrounds, and are attracted by Buckingham's historic market town setting, small class size and unique international community.
